** NOTE: This item can not be shipped ** Eric Kent Wine Cellars 2018 Small Town Pinot Noir MAGNUM SONOMA COAST | Sonoma county TASTING NOTES A sum of many parts and a true exercise in the art of blending, Small Town is a sneakily complex wine often belied by its gentle color and easy-to-love personality. Comprised of selections from multiple vineyards (5), many fermentations (9), diverse clones (6), etc. You get the picture, this was a genuine labor of love! The nearly ideal growing conditions in 2018 produced pristine and wonderfully ripe grapes at reasonable sugar levels, so Small Town’s typically spicy/savory/brambly core is met head on by an extra layer of fruit while retaining its low-alcohol profile. Dramatically aromatic as always (thank you, Freestone) we get more depth on the palate along with some hints of black fruit in the expected laser-like, bright red fruit of this blend. A bit of whole cluster fermentation added subtle leather notes and nerve to the back end. Oak was limited to mostly older and larger (puncheon) allowing the crystal clarity of the cool climate fruit to shine front and center. We think this will vintage will have large and happy fan club! DRINKING WINDOWS Prime drinking: Mid 2020 through 2027 Graceful ageability: 2029+ VINEYARDS 40% Cleary Ranch, 24% Robert's Road, 22% Grand Vent, 10% Stiling, 4% Micheal Valentine
