Relax and unplug for two nights at Blythewood Plantation, a historic mansion located in Amite, Louisiana. Visit the historic home surrounded by shady oak trees and a beautiful camellia garden. Wake up to a full breakfast served each morning and a delicious three-course dinner one night. During the Spanish rule, 3000 acres of land was granted to Reliegh Self on which the original Blythewood was built, and became a working cotton plantation. The home was burned and in 1885 Daniel Hardy Sanders rebuilt Blythewood in all of its original splendor! It took 3 years to complete this 18-room Colonial Revival Style Mansion! A note from Hilliard Education Foundation: Our Sunday Online Silent Auction (SOSA) raises money to support our award-winning services: experiential learning, free health screening, and patient navigation services to reverse poor health and poverty. The auction occurs online on the last Sunday of the month. All auction proceeds will go directly to support these programs.
We allow "popcorn" bidding with our auctions. Popcorn bidding extends bidding for an item past the auction close time until there hasn't been a bid for at least ten minutes. Remember that you have 1 hour and 30 minutes (12 pm - 1:30 pm) for bidding and can use the remaining time (1:30 pm - 2 pm) for reviewing winning bids.
